It’s what the EU wants. José Manuel Barroso unabashedly called the EU an “empire” back in 2007 when he was the head of the unelected EU Commission.
And the USA is not imperialistic. Please stop using left-wing mischaracterizations of the USA that date from the Cold War. Stopping other empires from absconding with undue power is the opposite of imperialism.
Are German or Russian ‘empire’ treading on US? Don’t you think the Monroe Doctrine has two sides to it?
Do you realize what sort of resentment the policies you are advocating cause in Germany and Russia?
Imagine if it would reach a critical mass and they decide to join forces and then ally with China against the US based on it. It didn’t work all that great for the Roman Empire.
