No it’s not. He’s making a point. I’ve made the same point. That idiot Wang suggests we be bar-coded. Why not a star? The Star of David reference isn’t anti Semitic, it’s an obvious reference to the way the Nazis branded the Jewish. The point is the progression: mask-vaccination passport-barcode-star or some such symbol....then a tattoo on our arm to prove we were vaccinated?

MayflowerMadam, the comment was referring to how the Nazis forced Jews by law to wear a yellow Star of David patch before and during the holocaust. I believe he was alluding to clueless Jews in the 1930s arguing for other Jews to wear the patch because it was the law.
You never did need to wear one. It never protected you or anyone else from a virus, not even 1% worth.
I all depends on how cold it is. The last time I went downhill skiing it was 27° and sunny so I did not wear a mask and I was totally comfortable. I didn't need googles either. Now if it get 15° or lower then I'll start wearing a mask.
Dont let people here discourage you...they are totally ignoring the Brownian motion. btw, masks are one area that engineers and MD’s may not see eye to eye and one reason why you see such a varied opinion about masks. Although, I am sure there are plenty of engineers not wearing masks.
The goal for mask wearing really boils down to lessening the viral load. Sure, some will get through...the less that get through the better chance the body has to fight it

I would NEVER shame someone into wearing a mask. Members of my family currently have COVID. They took ALL precautions to prevent getting it. I currently am in not good health and am helping them as I can. I wear a mask to protect myself....and use common sense washing hands, etc. That’s all I can do.
People have lost their minds.
I’m a teacher. It’s mandatory so I wear it whenever kids are around. But in the hall or a quick trip for coffee or donut I never wear it. No one says a word but I’m considered the Ted Kazinski of the building anyway.

My daughter’s MIL had a Christmas Eve party for her extended family, about 20 ppl. About 1/3 of the guests tested positive for Covid last week with about 5 of them being symptomatic, including the MIL. I saw her on Christmas Day and I’m fine. The funny thing is she manages a medical office and recently tested negative. She got her first vaccination about 2 weeks ago and then got Covid. So go figure! My daughter and her family had Covid about a month ago so they’re immune now, thank God.
I agree with you. Before I said eff the mask I made up a yellow Star of David with the word Jude on it and pinned it to my mask. I’ve lost quite a bit of faith in my fellow Americans over the last week or so. These effing masks are aform of oppression and I’m done with them. I wonder how many people in these Stalinist controlled blue states have lost everything? I wonder how many have taken their own lives? How many have turned to hard drugs? THAT is what the effing mask represents to me.
