Blessed are the cheesemakers...

My first High School memory back in the early 60s was some kid, a virtual stranger, coming up to me and asking to borrow a dime (it was just before lunch period and I didn’t want him to go without a slice of pie from the cafeteria) I said sure, handed him the dime, and he handed me a folded up piece of paper: I opened it and it said : Thanks! Your ten cents has helped buy a bullet for the Swiss Army to shoot holes in Swiss Cheese!-—this really pissed me off, the kid didn’t give it back, but ran off giggling.

I note that in the Monty Python “Cheese Shop” sketch the one cheese he doesn’t ask for is Swiss.

This article is poorly written.
It has more holes than Swiss Cheese.

Peripetchikoff : "We have emergency meeting with Swiss Trade Delegation. They send us twenty car-loads of cheese. Totally unacceptable... full of holes."

"One snaps branches from a nearby tree while others empty milk from crude hide bladders into a small wooden bucket. One pine branch becomes a spit to hold the bucket, the other branch a stirring rod. They stir the curds and nod approvingly to one another at the smell. They are making Swiss cheese . . . "
And how do they know this? Did they find video?

Who’s idea was it to put the holes in there?

I note that in the Monty Python “Cheese Shop” sketch the one cheese he doesn’t ask for is Swiss. From the article: It should be noted this second that “Swiss cheese” is what we call Swiss cheese, but the Swiss, being Swiss, make many cheeses, and do not call them all “Swiss cheese.” What we know as “Swiss cheese” is called Emmental in Europe.
He does ask for Emmental along with Gruyere, so the skit does not have a hole in it.
