The pic on the right clearly shows paint on the brick and the pic on the left looks as if the can was held close to the door with the right hand and angled to the left which is why you see a long black line on the frame where the left portion of the circle should have been were it all a flat surface. It's why you see gaps in the molding in the white paint. The paint was sprayed at an angle.

Is this a false flag? I have no idea, but the whole conspiracy theory around taped bricks is a non-starter.

You don’t need to tape it off. You can hold up a piece of cardboard to get the same effect. That’s why some of it will still spray through, but be very faint.
