More "Made in China" CRAP!
I've got ceilng fans that are over 20 years old ... made in America. No problems.
I've had lawn mowers over 15 years old ... made in America. No problems.
I've had snow blowers over 10 years old ... made in America. No problems.
I just bought a new snow blower last February and had to replace the carb last month .... made in China.

Red locktight on the screws might help, what I used on my Hunter.

locktight = fingernail polish
for me at least

I have nothing but Casablanca ceiling fans in my house. They are a little more pricey but high quality and quiet. I run them 24/7 during the warmer months.

Another quality product made in China Its a design flaw, not a manufacturing flaw...where it got made is not the issue.

Could be both.
The company’s official statement said it was a manufacturing flaw.

Hunter fans seem to be of good quality (I have two), but I made the mistake of buying a Hunter programmable thermostat, and that was a disaster.
The first one failed to shut off the burner after reaching the target temperature. I found that out one one day when I returned home for work. The house was 90 degrees and the furnace was running.
I complained to Hunter and they sent me a replacement, and that one promptly failed too. That one went in the trash.
I bought one from Sears and that one has been in service for at least 20 years, and has worked perfectly since day one.
I have no idea how Hunter’s current models are, but I will never buy one.

I believe there should be another warning or potential recall to prevent people from hanging cat toys from the fan blades. It could be potentially harmful to our furry friends.

There's no brand name visible from the ground. It's white, if that helps.:)
It doesn't get heavy or continuous use. I imagine that has contributed to its longevity. But when we're out there, the fan does its job. If you're looking and have a specialty shop available, at least take the time to talk to them. Or give Dan's Fan City (or another specialty shop, if you know of one) a call. Even over the phone, they'd be able to give you some guidance. As a specialty shop, they probably cover the whole product range and can talk tradeoffs. It's like going to a good local bike shop as opposed to a big box store for a new bicycle.

Red locktight on the screws might help, what I used on my Hunter. The recalled type has no screws. The blades snap in. Shitty design, but it looks sleek.

The clerks at the big box stores can pretty much tell you which isle something is on rapidly and accurately.
They just don’t know what it is.
