According to the constitution the President of the Senate, vp Pence, presides over the electoral vote on January 6.
But what if he resigns instead? Right then and there. There is no President of the Senate then.
So what is the constitutional remedy and what do you suppose will happen?

Pence’s son is in the military, that would be bad for him
to have a traitor for a dad.

That only applies to President. A new Vice Presidential appointment would be voted on by both Houses of Congress.
With the office of the Senate President being vacant, the Senate President Pro Tempore would preside in his place.

Pence’s son is in the military, that would be bad for him to have a traitor for a dad. And under what scenario does that situation even exist?
To: DouglasKC
In almost all cases, if there is no clear Constitutional answer, the Constitution leaves it up to state legislatures and the U.S. Congress to make their own rules.

Almost as good.......the President has the bully pulpit.
He can REQUEST the Vice President to resign, and if the VP did not resign, he could do things to humiliate him, and incite others to request his resignation.

Oh for crying out loud, give this stuff a rest. Agreed. It's non-productive and serves no purpose whatsoever except to create a state of constant anxiety.

Then Chuck Grassley, president pro tempore, would preside over the Electoral College vote.
To: DouglasKC
The President Pro Tempre of the Senate would assume that role in the Senate. Currently that is Chuck Grassley.
In terms of Presidential Succession, he would be third behind Nancy.
