They advertise drug down to the 60 I.Q. level. Granted, I don't think doctors always make the best choice on what drugs to give their patients, but creating demand with consumers isn't helping.
I spoke to someone in advertising several years ago, and he said the average television commercial was made at the IQ level of 70-75 (which used to in a range called "retarded" or "borderline" before those phrase became verboten).
