A speeding car has been filmed almost disintegrating as it hit the United States border in footage from the crash that killed the driver and a disabled vendor.
The 27-year-old male motorist from Santa Ana, California, was pronounced dead at the scene after crashing into a metal barrier as he attempted to cross into the US in a closed lane at the San Ysidro Port of Entry just after 2pm local time last Tuesday.

oh, and just want to point out, notice the number of cars (9 open lanes) at a 'closed' border.
Democrats will now require all barriers to be removed and replaced with cones.
"Lines? I ain't waiting in no steenkin' lines!"
Tijuana police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the striking of the man and woman, while CHP is probing the crash.
A spokesperson for CHP said it’s not currently known exactly how fast the sedan was driving in the moments leading up to the crash, however said the vehicle would ‘have to be going at some speed’ to cause the ‘significant’ amount of damage the car suffered.
Vanishing Point?
“What’s that in the road a head?”
No no no!
“What’s that in the road ahead?”
My mom, who lived in the San Diego area, loved to go to Mexico. The biggest hassle was always coming back at San Ysidro. A couple of hours wait was typical. The vendadores selling almost everything were careful not to cross the metal bumps in the road that marked the actual border as were the American agents with dogs checking for contraband.
In contrast, getting into Mexico was pretty easy. They had a stop light and if it was red, you pulled over and told the customs guy ‘Nada señor’ and he waved you through. If it was green, you just drove through.
All that said, I can’t imagine trying to break through. There are, or at least were, lots of twists and turns and barriers before you got through to get on to the 5/805
No, no. It should be: “Whats that in the road? A head?”
“He’s dead, Jim.”
Doesn’t look like a Challenger! Or even a car. ;^}
That’ll buff right out. Good as new.
There was a metal pole embedded about 4 feet above ground, encased in what looked like fiberglass or wood. I think the guy thought it was just a hollow plastic barrier he’d plow through, and ended up getting decapitated by the pole.
The driver was a Californian. What was his problem. He should’ve gotten through easily.
I would love to know the upshot on this one.
He was dying to get home.
That’s no way to get ahead in life.
Strange. He was barreling thru. Or tried to. Was he on drugs. Was he carrying drugs?
I noticed the same thing. And Stupid hurts.
Bet he didn’t feel a thing.
