During some reading tonight in Proverbs, I ran into this passage. I tell you all, in regards to The Three Gorges Dam, this hit me hard and I have to say I have repented my thoughts. In the past, I tried to reconcile fleeting thoughts of hoping disaster falls on them versus the extreme loss of life. Regardless of how I rationalized my thoughts, I always had thoughts in the back of my mind that was sinful. For one thing, there are millions of Brothers and Sisters in Christ who live in China, and I should wish calamity to fall upon them???

Whoever mocks the poor insults his Maker;
he who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished.

Proverbs 17:5 (ESV)

Very fitting scripture for very troubling times. It is Gods Mercy we cry for as well as His Justice.
