We have mountains in Texas. Big beautiful mountains...And inactive volcanoes too.

A friend in Ashville took me on a tour of the Smokies, It was nice and fun, yet....It wasn’t much more than Eastern Oklahoma (Kiamichi’s).

Don’t get me wrong, I loved the ‘smoke’ of the Smokies, it was just a fog-like feature. (that area was a rain forest in the Nantahala’s) Very pretty with the waterfalls and all.

In West Texas is the Davis, the Chisos and Guadelupe. Guadelupe peak being the highest at 8k or so above sea level.

Not far off from Amarillo/Dumas is Raton. Drive through there in winter if its open and your ears will pop and your butt will clench.

As far as female anatomy, I have hiked the Tetons in Wyoming.

I wasn't aware that that was the origin of "Tetons" but I just looked it up, and you're right - although there are competing theories about the origin of the name.

I would like to see the mountains of Texas someday. They sound nice. The Smokies are also nice in their own right. Much greener, I would imagine, than the mountains of West Texas but not as tall. And the frequent fog is a notable characteristic.

The part of North Carolina where Pilot Mountain is, is not part of the Smokies. It's in the central part of the state and close to the Virginia boarder. They call it the Piedmont region and the mountains in that area are scattered. I think technically they're considered foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains.
