The public policy scholar Joseph Overton stated that an idea must fall within a certain range of acceptability to be politically viable. The Overton Window, as this concept has come to be known, describes the range of publicly palatable ideas at a given time, and it applies not only to politicians, but to the general public as well. Recently, however, the rules have changed. [snip] The Overton Window has become the Overton dartboard.

As a matter of fact, if you feel afraid to tell what do you think, because you may loose your job, Welcome, that is the same feeling like the East Europeans had before the fall of Communism.
“Cancel culture is creating a Soviet-style society of liars”
A society of Leftist liars created Cancel culture
There fixed it.
Democrats respond: Most secure election in history. Zero evidence of election fraud.
That's everything you need to know about the Marxist Democrat Party Cabal.
Yep. Late stage Communism didn’t rely so much on Stalinist brutality, but more on humiliation. If you were a dissident, they didn’t bother to Gulag you, but they would fire you from your nice professional job as an engineer or a doctor and make you clean toilets as a janitor. American society has replicated this use of ritual humiliation and is using it extensively.
Here’s an old Soviet joke (very much applicable to the USA today):
Foreign reporter: What is your opinion on farm collectivization?
Soviet citizen: I agree with the policy of the party.
Foreign reporter: What is your opinion on the steel production goals?
Soviet citizen: I agree with the policy of the party.
Foreign reporter: Don’t you have any opinions of your own?
Soviet citizen: Yes. But I don’t agree with them.
What is interesting is that the humiliation is often done anonymously and certainly at a distance. People who are “canelled” are almost never able to confront their tormentors. Its necessary to fight back especially if the cancelling is done by state run entities such as colleges or professional licensing boards and by private corporations for wrongful firing. Also the mobs must be held accountable. IMHO a person who is being attacked or cancelled has a right to take direct action against those who are hurting them for their opinions.
Yes.
Actually digging holes in wilderness was the prefered method to punish nonconformants. Janitor meets too many people and can interact! The best is to send them to work where there are no people to talk to.
Night Shift stoker was also a popular job for black sheep people.
Black sheep was actually the official term for the canceled people.
They would actually ask you on job interview - are you a black sheep?! Please, tell us right away to save us the efforts of checking you up. We will figure out in either way.
If you are, sorry, we cannot hire you.
My grandfather was “cancelled” in old communist Yugoslavia. Went from a director (mayor) of a small town to night watchman in a highrise office building.
Ironically, he was a hard-core stalinist. He chose poorly in the Tito-Stalin schism. He was lucky he didn’t get more severe punishment, but he had family connections on the winning side.
Ironically, in neighboring Albania, being a “Titoist” got you a bullet in the head, most likely.
I frankly don’t understand the cowardice people have about this. Stand your ground, make your points, and defend them.
No one can stand against reason. Oh, of course there are loudmouths that will shout you down, but you can overcome that.
My character and my words stand for themselves.
Actually being Titoist got you bullet in the head in all Communist countries during the Stalin era and for a while after it.
Then, later, you just got labeled black sheep and send to work as a hole digger. See above!
“Stop sending people to kill me… If you don’t stop sending killers, I’ll send one to Moscow, and I won’t have to send a second.”
Tito was a badass, I’ll say that. Frankly, to keep Yugoslavia from breaking apart you had to be. It’s not a surprise that Yugoslavia could not survive his passing.
Actually this is one of the most mysteries I have never been able to find an answer for!
Why Soviets did not invaded Yugoslavia?
They invaded Hungary, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, even Poland. Mongolia, North Korea, Afghanistan, Etiopia, Angola, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Rumania, Armenia, Uzbekistan. Many other countries I cannot recall now.
But they left Tito alone.
You are probably full or donation requests.
I would like you to consider one more.
This is a really great charity dedicated to fight communism.
Check and maybe consider a little donation:

Theodore Dalrymple
The evil most fundamental to the decadence of Western Civilisation is contempt for truth. Truth for its own sake is not even a consideration for those afflicted by the decay. They have only contempt for it and consider those who respect truth to be fools.
