Any person, whether or not an officer of election or custodian, who willfully steals, destroys, conceals, mutilates, or alters any record or paper required by section 20701 of this title to be retained and preserved shall be fined not more than $1,000 or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.

A thousand dollars...fine ??

Yes that really would put the fear into ppl to not be complicit in an illegal act.

We were sold out for 1000 dollars, if everyone involved was charged and found guilty I guess the fine total would be 50m dollars. The cost of convicting same would be 1 billion dollars...

The Uniparty sold off and destroyed the Country for peanuts and lol at our demise.

That should mean up to $1,000 and one year in jail per count. And every destroyed ballot should be a separate count. So, illegally destroyed 1,000 ballots? OK, $1,000,000 fine and 1,000 years in prison.
