If they’d have spontaneous but guaranteed fights break out on the field and in the stands, people might watch. But it has to be spontaneous. Folks are tired of fixed outcomes. That’s why war is inevitable.

You suppose THIS has something to do with that? Watching 250# guys playing with their balls in public is a distraction from the vital but less EXCITING job of KEEPING OUR FREEDOMS! Bread and circuses brought down the Roman Republic. Looks like they'll bring down OURS!
