Niven’s stuff is what I’d like to see Hollywood do.
The characters don’t need to be “adjusted”, they’re already non-typical. Heck Louis Wu is asian which should please the Chinese right off the bat.
There are a lot of “ideas” in it though...

I would like to see an adaptation of “The Mote in God’s Eye”. Maybe the best sci-fi story ever.
