I love cruising
Good for you, hope you can get one in in 2021. -Tom
Me too and soon as they start up again, I'll be one of the first aboard. Screw those who like to call cruise ships "floating petri dishes" - those are embittered folks who could never afford to take a cruise on their own dime.
Never had a bad cruise though admittedly, I did get a pretty bad case of food poisoning on a Royal Carribean cruise to Bermuda back in 1987. Likely the midnight buffet which featured raw fish and sushi.
I offset the pounds gained by taking a morning walk around the deck on all possible levels. I go to the bottom deck and then work my way up to the top deck and finally end on the deck I'm staying at. That can be several miles! Then go for a good swim.
As for those who claim their deck chairs with a personal item, I eye it for about an hour or so and then will occupy it myself by tossing the personal items a few chairs over. Never got confronted about it.
While I like to gamble, I avoid the slots in the ship casinos as they are very tight compared to Vegas and even the Indian casinos on the mainland. Will pay blackjack tables provided blackjack pays 3:2 (avoid the 6:5 ones). Cigarette smoke is annoying but not a hindrance.
I could never stand to get anybody else’s boat
I do use fairies to carry my kayaks around
The inflatable kayak is man’s greatest invention for the water
Here’s a sentence for you
My boat weighs 11 pounds can hold 600 lbs
and can be put in a duffel bag and shipped with all of the accordant equipment anywhere in the world for free
