I'd rather hop in my car, and visit museums, historical sites, or historical homes. Back in 2006, I flew overseas, visited the small village in Holland where my father was born, took the train to Paris, spent 2 1/2 days there so I could visit the D-Day Beaches in Normandy, and went to The Louvre. Took the Chunnel from Paris to London, and had a week in London before my 3-week bus tour of the British Isles began. I was gone a total of 33 days. Went back to London and Paris the following year for another 10 days. Too old to travel now. Don't have the stamina I had all those years ago.
COVID and norovirus.
You’re never too old to travel...
“Had to read eight paragraphs before recognizing that this article was not about the Al Pacino movie.”
Hey-oooooooo! (using Ed McMahon voice)
If you use fairies to carry your kayaks around, that’s cool. No one’s gonna judge you here.
Great come back. I can understand if someone is actually at a seat holding more for three or four people. But if no one‘s there, the seats are available.
Say what?
Yawn!!! The ‘petri dish’ line is getting old.
Cruise lines?
Capt.?
How about a 40 ft Cat....
Can’t handle facts, can you?
We went on a cruise once. Hated it. Wrote the president of the line telling him how much we hated it, and requesting a refund.
Got back coupons for a discount on our next cruise.
To give you an idea, in summer, 1998, the “first-run” movie on board was 1997’s Titanic. Lol!
I have over 400 days on Royal and “X” wishing I was packing for Bermuda now.
We're scheduled to go on our third round-trip voyage in 2022, with a two-week layover in England. Few kids, no short dockings anywhere, and, while there's plenty to do while aboard, it's not the frenetic round-the-clock pandemonium; just an enjoyably seven days of being at sea, true ocean voyaging.
Yes they do. There are companies you can rent a scooter from that will deliver it to your room on the ship and you just leave it in room when you get off and they pick it up. Last cruise (going on 2 years ago now because of Covid) my wife used one of those because of some health issues she was having (thankfully over them now). She would not have been able to handle many of the long walks down hallways.
Most ships are set up so you can get around in a scooter on them. Theaters and other venues are easily accessible by them, not so much dining areas (but room service is getting really good on many cruise lines), some of the ports have good scooter/wheelchair sidewalks etc. others not so much (San Juan, PR). Tip, if you do use one, spend for a larger cabin if you can or choose a smaller cabin carefully, some of the interior or oceanview in odd places are larger than standard, as you cannot leave the scooter in the hallway. Be prepared for long elevator waits at meal times and port calls. Hope this helps.
Sounds good to me.
What we did in our younger days was cruise to an area and if we liked it, the next year chartered a sailboat about 40-45 feet long for our personal use, usually spent a week to 10 days aboard 24 hrs/day.
Sailing, swimming, snorkeling, oh to be young again. -Tom

When you have health issues, and problems getting around, then you're too old. I got all my traveling done when I was younger. I did it then, because I knew there would be a day when I wouldn't be able to.
I seriously doubt it.
LOL!
Cruising for AIDS
Thanks, sounds good. I will, definitely check that pyt5 then, thanks for the room tips too
