Common law marriages are recognized by many states.

I am reminded of a case involving actor Lee Marvin...
He got sued by a woman who lived together with him for many years...The courts did not accept her claim that he owed her financial support...

Just watched Breakdown the other night. We also have Executive Decision in the collection.

I liked BREAKDOWN...A good action movie...
EXECUTIVE DECISION...Not a politically correct movie...Islamic terrorists are not very nice in that movie.
Steven Segal was a supporting character. Marla Maples was also in that movie...
I wrote “many states” not all states.
Then again how long ago was the Marvin case, 30 40 years ago? I suspect a court would rule differently today then it did years ago.
Only seven US states and DC
Always liked them both! As a little girl, apparently only 9 years younger than him, I watched him in Disney movies and thought he was a handsome boy. Amazingly, we share the same birthday, March 17. I was happy to hear he hsd found true love with pretty and funny Goldie.
Ahhh, yes. Commencing instruction and lessons in fealty starting with celebrities. Soon Kowtowing. So we know who are betters and masters are and how to properly honor them.
Our selected leaders.
I stand corrected.
Having been married for 50 years it is not a subject I kept up to date on.
As a side note, common law was recognized in Michigan until about 1955 or 56....after that, nope.
You are welcome. Happy New Year. Good riddance to 2020.
You are welcome.
