Most people don’t understand that. Democrats run as Republicans in order to get elected. Once in office, they do just enough to get reelected which isn’t hard considering incumbents have a reelection rate of over 90%. Conservatives (real Republicans) don’t seek to control other people’s lives.
They are all on same side with same cause.
