3% death rate is high. Thankfully, that’s not the whole picture. According to CDC, they have estimated that there are 8 infections that are unconfirmed for each one that is confirmed. Right now we have 20 million infections. Let’s assume that half of them are repeated cases, that gives you a rough estimate of maybe 80-100 million Americans who have gotten infected with COVID-19. Case fatality ratio would be around 0.3%. Just an estimate. But it’s not 1% so that’s a good thing and it is looking to be way under that.
