In years past, I would have taken comfort in the fact that we actually have pretty clear Election Law that prescribes what can and can’t happen on 1/6.

But as many laws in America nowadays are pretty much routinely ignored entirely by those in power, with absolutely no consequences, God only knows what can and will happen here.

McConnell clearly does not want a vote, as probably no more than 5 Senators (Hawley, Cruz, Paul, Blackburn and Tubberville) will vote on the side of the good guys. That will embarrass the bananas out of 45 - 47 other R Senators. And Mitch is gonna do everything he can to prevent that.

It's an interesting dynamic. It's one thing to squelch the public and pretend to be paying attention. That happens between the critter and others, out of chamber and out of view.

Now what is happening is the old "squelch junior critters" program may experience a leak.

McConnell has been trying to avoid objection altogether, even though the end result is known. It's a strange thing. Why would he care that objection be voiced, debated and voted on? It's happened recently and no ill came of it. Why avoid it now?

Congress. Lying liars gotta lie. This is what they do. Lie cheat and steal, sell out the country while everybody is looking. Might as well. The system is rigged for them, and they would be fools to not milk it for all they can. Zero patriots in the government.

Consider the source -- one not even yet congressperson, thought be some not to be 100% there, saying "word on the hill is" -- at least double hearsay. Plus, as several others have said already, law is pretty clear.

I would call clickbait, and ask the worried ones above to check back on Jan 6. If one Sen and one Rep object, there WILL be votes in each house, just as happened in 2004.
