No stranger to foul language. This is of a different level

‘A different level’, yes that’s the way to describe the language on the tuna boat! Seriously, virtually every other word was obscene, foul and otherwise totally rotten. It was if there was a conscious effort to include as many swear words into a sentence as possible.

There were only three of us on the boat and me and the other guy, a high school student, took our lead from the boss, who had been fishing likely all his life. Since I worked only one summer on one boat, I have no idea how things worked on other boats but your post made me wonder if it was a ‘commercial fishing boat cultural thing’.

I know and knew some fishermen out of Gloucester Ma if they are not fishing many are drinking, smoking or tooting something.
They are a rugged bunch, the language just comes with the pkg.
Don’t like it don’t participate, that simple.

PS: Clammers make fishermen look like saints ya may want to avoid them also.
