They will eventually discover that the the explosion was set off by a guy living alone in a remote area who gradually went bonkers. It’s sad when your brain goes, and nobody notices, but that’s probably what happened.
The apparent suspect lived alone in a suburb, but none of the neighbors knew him well.

Roll over- back to sleep. The blast came from within the building, and blew out the sidewalk elevator doors from below.
No RV even with mil-spec explosives could have blown out breather exhaust chimneys 20 stories up... blown OUTWARDS from inside, and all the way from the basement.
