Reminds me of when I accidentally signed a marketing email as “Best retards,” rather than “Best regards,”. Luckily, I spotted it before hitting Send.
... or a slave at Ikea ...
Exactly. My Windows phone would have flagged that error.
“...one of the most common errors is that my fingers type “Retards”.”
If you were Joe Biden, it would fit.
"read things incorrectly when I first glance at them"
Ha ha… I’ve determined I have to get humor from wherever I can, even if it does make my wife roll her eyes at me… :-)
Hope all is well with you and your loved ones Bikkuri...:). Best wishes for a great year in 2021
Likewise, best to you and family;
Have safe holidays!
Whoever used to run the physical (letters in the USPS) graduated to the Internet (email & hacking) many, many moons ago. One time I received an email stating that the Grand PoohBah of Nigeria had passed away, and left me a small fortune. All I had to do was ‘share’ my bank account and password. I decided to have some fun.
I composed a short but concise message that the author of the message needed to send me, via FedEx, $5,000 in gold. Once the gold arrived, and was verified to be real, I explained, I would know that I could trust them.
I received this reply:
‘I know understand you.’
I replied back ‘No kidding Dick Tracy.’
Auto correct on my old Windows phone was near perfect.I MISS MY LUMIA 950 !!!
I had a Lumia Icon. I miss it. The battery went. I had to keep it on a charger most of the time. I ordered a battery but before it came, the phone quit working. I need up with an Android phone. A few things are better but I liked my Icon the best.
The 950 wasn’t supported by Verizon in my area. I would have loved that phone.
Turned autocorrect off over a year ago. Nearly sent a badly “corrected” text to my pastor. 😧
Turned it off right then.
I had to bail on my last Lumia 950 over battery issues. It was a great ecosystem.
I went w/ iPhone bc I can’t stand Google’s abuse of small business (like my own), but when MS released the Surface Duo, I gave it a try, and I really like it — even if on Android, which is barely noticeable.
LOL !!! That just reminded Me of one of My work E-Mail Faux Paw 🐾.
I along with the entire City of xxxxxxxx received a PC E-Mail regarding mudslimes.
I made a very Non-PC comment and thought that I Replied only to the Members of My Department.
I found out the next shift I worked when it started with My Supervisor calling Me into His office to inform Me that I had in fact sent My very Non-PC comment via “REPLY ALL” to the ENTIRE CITY Including the Mayor and H(ighly) R(idicules) Department !
Now My Supervisor was pretty cool with everything but told Me that the “powers that be” were VERY UNHAPPY WITH ME and that they would be CLOSELY MONITORING ALL of My E-Mails sent via City Computers including BOTH Internal and My External Personal E-Mails.
I had already pissed off the H(ighly) R(idicules) Department not long before the E-Mail Faux Paw🐾 I was at a “Training Session” on how to form habits. They told Us (class) that it takes 21 days to form a Habit. Well Our Department had a Schedule different from All others. 12 hours on/off, work 2 shifts On/3 Off then 3 On/2 Off and every Month switching from Days to Night and then back to Nights and Days. So by the H(ighly) R(idicules) Department teachings there’s no way that we could “form a habit”.
Well Me being Me I raised My hand to ask the question of what are We supposed to do with the Shifts We Work ?
They got pissed and called My Supervisor saying that I was “Disruptive”” and being a “Smart Ass” !!!
I told Him that I had asked a legitimate question and they could say what ever they wanted to because they were gonna anyway!!!
I don’t miss the job but do miss most of My excoworkers.
Heh, I read your post and could see why they regarded you as a troublemaker...people who wield power HATE it when people question them...don’t you know you are supposed to shut up and do what you are told?
Well, email is fraught with peril, no doubt. I work in an environment where personal information is critically guarded with high penalties from regulatory agencies for failing to do so, and one of the things that we require is that people lock workstations when they leave them unattended.
When I see one not locked, I feel the urge to sit down at it and send an email to the entire organization from that unlocked person’s name...:)
Of course, I would never do that, but I find the urge amusing!
