I think you are confusing Hockey with Lacrosse, which is like hockey only with fighting and without ice.

My son loaned me his laptop with a live stream of the NHL Network.

There is skill involved in aggressive checking and dealing with aggressive checking.
I like my football to be of the three or four yards and a cloud of dust variety, and appreciate aggressive but clean hockey.
There is skill in that—and it can even be feminine in a Canadian sort of way. I have a former student who is now a contemplative Nun who could hold her own against the guys.

It is what passes for Country now days—while the themes tend to be traditional C&W, much of it is, in the words of an old-timer (to the extent that a baby boomer can be an old-timer) “pop rock in cowboy hats” (in Canada it is permissible to substitute a toque)
The US team is going to have to play better as a team. Too many sloppy passes and odd man breaks allowed.

Well, it’s the first game. They will get better.
The goalie made couple of bad mistakes and the game was over.
