Got a dusting of snow here in north Ga.
Gone now except for the higher elevations
Temps in the 20s.
Had the cold front swept through a few hours earlier
we might have seen what they were forecasting.
We got a few flakes of snow this morning in Baltimore, but nothing more. I see that there is a film of thin ice on the top shelves of plants on my balcony, but the sun is shining. I heard it’s gonna get bitterly cold tonight, but it’s the Sabbath. I plan on staying home, eating the delicious food I am preparing now (Chicken Marsala, spinach/noodle pudding, homemade cranberry sauce and zucchini fritters) and then curling up on the couch with a good book and an even better cat.
We’re a tad SE of you between Dahlonega and Murrayville. We had a series of snow showers that were pretty and resulted in the GA version of a white Christmas 🎄.
Our high for the day way 29. Now 26 and headed down to 20 or 19. The wind off the lake is brutally cold for GA.
In North Gwinnett we saw some flakes falling but more ice than anything else. At 4 PM yesterday it was close to 50 degrees by 8 PM frost and ice all over.
I’m in a valley just east of Brasstown Bald mountain. Got way more than a ‘dusting’-more like 4 inches all together. Never saw such hard rain turn to snow like it did and then it stick so quickly. Figured it would melt quick but the temps dropped 15 degrees in just over an hour. Finally got the very first White Christmas ever in my 62 years but I’ll be happy when it’s gone. Got a funny feeling this won’t be the last of it-we still got a lot of winter left to deal with...
