“Country Music critics”
Lol.
Never been much for country music, probly because I was inundated by my parents as a kid. However I bought a jeep last year and for some reason felt compelled to start listening to it (still can’t figure out the connection) and I quickly realized contemporary country music today is dominated by songs about alcohol....beer, wine, liquor, tequila....you name it they’re singin’ about it.....weird.
I went back to 80s rock.
Friend asked me years ago why they sing about drinkin’ on Saturday night and going to church on Sunday. I said it’s because they’re singing about real life! LOL
That being said, if the subject of your country song is one of these, you have a guaranteed hit:
1. Your mama
2. Your cheatin’ woman (wife or girfriend)
3. Your truck (or tractor)
4. Drinkin’ and fightin’
5. Your dog
Ever hear a country song about a cat? Me either.
