You guys just want to manufacture a concept that makes you feel better about the impact on your livelihood.
Stop with the attribution to Covid stuff. It doesn’t matter.
What does matter is the 65+ population this year will have 25% more deaths of all causes than in a typical year.
You can just think about that. Nope, not suicide. There is no data saying anyone is dying from lockdown. The latest suicide numbers actually are 2018 so there is no data. People 65+ are dying in big numbers — big enough to take overall societal life expectancy down a year or two.
And they are dying even with all the measures taken. Many of those measures are taken without govt mandate. And still we are going to lose an extra 25% extrapolating to March.
You can debate what to do about it, but the numbers are clean on excess death and are not debatable.
