Brian Kemp Call for a Special Session

Posted on 12/24/2020 12:08:31 PM PST by street_lawyer

TO: Hon. Brian Kemp Governor of The State of Georgia 404-656-1776 brian.kemp@georgia.gov

Freepers should demand that you call a special session of the Georgia legislature to evaluate the election results. An overwhelming number of Republican voters are saying that you have something to hide. Maybe you do not, but your reluctance to call a special session has soiled your reputation and most of your party membership who believe the election was stolen will continue to bear witness until Trump returns to office. Your motives are being questioned. They believe that sufficient election irregularities cast doubt on the outcome of the election. They are convinced that President Trump won the election handily and they also believe you know it as well. Because of your continued refusal to call for a special session, voters of your party will challenge you’re your candidacy even if you run for dog catcher.

The State, of course, after granting the franchise in the special context of Article II, can take back the power to appoint electors. See id., at 35 ("[T]here is no doubt of the right of the legislature to resume the power at any time, for it can neither be taken away nor abdicated") (quoting S. Rep. No. 395, 43d Cong., 1st Sess.). Bush v Gore, 531 U.S. 98, 121 S.Ct. 525, 148 L.Ed.2d 388 (2000)

Governor Kemp has made his position clear and he is not going to do any such thing.

Kemp doesn't want to have to refund the bribe money from china and soros.

The GA legislature can call a special session of 3/5 (60%) of the members sign a petition to do so.

GA Legislature makeup:

Senate: 35/21 (62% Republican)
House: 103/75 (57% Republican)

Even with all senate Republicans signing the petition, there aren’t enough Republicans in the house to get it done.

What I think has nothing to do with it. You’re not getting a 3/5ths vote out of the legislature, there are too many Democrats. We need Kemp to step up. Going on with patently unrealistic statements like “the legislature can call themselves into session” is not helpful.

Some of those GA House members have majority conservative constituents who are putting pressure on them.

It’s not a percentage process, it’s a population enraged process.

Normal, polite, meek, quiet Georgians are so livid they are ready for blood, seriously.

Really, how much difference is there between Kemp and Abrams; one is fearful; the other corrupt.

I am not a Constitutional expert, but I would believe the Georgia legislature could carry out a US Constitutional duty regardless of Georgia law. It would seem a Georgia law would not be able to limit an enumerated power specified in the Constitution. Of course, if the Georgia legislature chose to meet with a simple majority, the USSC would make the final decision.

Kemp has already been reminded that a mysterious one-car accident is in his future if he changes his mind.

man you’re in a lousy angry mood... and you dont need to lambast me ... keep your rude for a dem....

I’ve been in ga for 35 years and I have as much right to live and have an opinion as you think you do. i was taught to be kind but a little of your attitude is enough..

since I lost my husband and spent 2 yrs with my son while he fought a losing battle with leukemia.. I have used up my patience.. for people who are rude before anything else..

self centered and dont care who you step on.

it’s people like you who spread hate... and YOU are the problem.

I was happy when Kemp beat Stacy Abrams ....Now we see what a snake Kemp is. Republicans in Georgia such as the legislature.... They sure are a strange bunch. They are submissively rolling over to show their soft underbelly to the Dems. They are letting the Dems capture these two Senate seats via fraud. What weirdos!
