You can soak calamari in lemon juice for 30 minutes to tenderize before stir-frying or deep frying. And just a couple of minutes to cook. Much longer than that and it turns to rubber.

My dh used to go scuba diving for abalone when we were first married. It had to be tenderized, but oh it was heavenly.

Calamari is similar.

Being gluten free isn’t the worst thing in life, but so many things I can’t eat.

However, last time I was with my kids, my dil fried shrimp for me in corn starch and it was really good. She’s a great cook.

Good times back in the abalone day!
