IMHO, you should test positive on two consecutive days to be considered positive.
The problem with false positives is running the sample through too many RT-PCR amplification cycles. The USA is running 35-40 cycles when 25 cycles would identify over 98% of actual infections. A person who tests positive but is asymptomatic should have the option of being retested with just 25 amplification cycles. The EUA the tests are now authorized under does not allow this.
