Gillian Anderson Bleak House
I have NO IDEA how Gillian Anderson gets herself cast in all these things. Her portrayal of Miss Havisham as a wispy. barely there woman was completely off. Heck, she wouldn't even wear the ONE SHOE, which was the key to what a mess she was supposed to be.
Her portrayal of the lead in Edith Wharton's "The House of Mirth" was unengaging and dull.
I have not seen her in Bleak House, but I doubt that her portrayal of Lady Dedlock approaches that of Diana Rigg in an older BBC version ... she just doesn't have thge screen presence of the acting chops.

I started to watch the Diana Rigg version, but didn’t finish. I’ve watched the Gillian Anderson version several times. There are so many characters that are memorable in it. I recommend it
