It is amazing how many younger techs and engineers assume software can fix anything, regardless of the limits of the hardware. A 500-1000 MHz planar antenna CANNOT receive 200 MHz, I don’t care what software tweaks you make.
I’m amazed how many modern engineers are so bone stupid, I would listen to my AM radio in a steel building and their iphones wont work, they say how are you getting a signal?
The old stuff works great, FCC put restrictions on lots of the modern gear but it has nice features like tons of notch filters and falling raster wideband displays.
I used to listen in on cellphone conversations on old gear.
