Wife and I are retired. One on SS, and the other with a modest pension. Our income for the most part didn't change much with the lockdowns. Less interest earned, but not catastrophic.

Some retirees had increased costs with food services (deliveries, etc.), but this was far less of a concern than those who lost their jobs, health insurance, and/or had to deal with kids at home from school. For those retirees living exclusively on a small SS payout, this would help. Beyond that, I'm not sure my wife and I should be receiving the stimulus.

I’m 67. Right now I’m making good money AND receiving SS. My reasoning was simple: Even though I’ll have to pay taxes on it, I’ll get my house paid off in the next few months. It was worth it because without that payment (it’s our only debt at this point) we can live quite comfortably on SS alone - and keep saving for the future. :)
