Hopefully you’re done by now. (I just got done putting in a new faucet and it’s 2:25 am!). My mom made something similar but without the dates.

the recipe was unusual in that you bake everything in a pan, and when you can cool it down, start scooping up balls and roll in powdered sugar, so I’m in the cooling down stage...and somewhere in my kitchen is the recipe but I can’t find it now...
