Just over 240 days ago the average American taxpayer was so graciously given $0.20 per day to live one. No it does not matter if you have no kids or 7 kids, $0.20 seemed reasonable considering the amazing meal you could have had on a $5.00 per day menu per person. This is a pandemic and everybody has to chip in for the greater good of the country.
We now understand that 8,000,000 taxpayers have exasperated their checking account and there is nothing left. In the spirit of the holidays, however, we are going to extend our gracious offering after considerable debate and now provide you $0.10 per day instead. That will help you fill the hungry bellies and stockings in your household during this holiday season!
We know how difficult this has been for you, and for us as well. We too are suffering imaging how difficult it must be for you knowing you cannot work, your business is failing, and your life savings are gone. Please don't blame it on "our" lockdown. It really is the pandemic. It is not our intent to hurt the little people. You know, the little people like you.
As for us, well, we appreciate the concern but we will soldier on. Focus on, and support each other during this difficult times, We will just have to get by on the average $475 per day taken from future tax payments you will make on the $0.10 per day we are giving you.

I suspect the author was “victimized” by auto correct seeing a misspelling of “exhausted” and reasoning “he MUST have meant to type “exasperated” so that’s what I’ll change it to.
Sign me... a frequent victim of autocorrect followed by negligent non-proofreading on my part. Isn’t “artificial intelligence” wonderful?

There are only 2 people in my household but yesterday near closing time for our local supermarket we bought a rotisserie chicken already cooked on closeout for 3 dollars. 2 jacket potatoes and a cup of frozen peas and it was easily under 5 dollars for the meal. Throwing in 2 more potatoes and some more peas we could have stretched it to four people and still had a decent meal.
A couple of days ago you asked me to give you access to a database. One of the folders is called Frugal Living and Eating. That might prove to have some useful information if you ever find yourself needing to stretch your budget.
10 eggs (organically grown, free-range): €3.42
80 grams of "Vesperspeck" (extra-fancy smoked bacon): €2.25
500 grams "Dinkelbaguette" (French bread made from a variety of wheat known in English as "spelt"): €4.43
500 grams of Irish Kerrygold butter: €1.45
4 x 0.33 liter bottles of orange juice: €1.94
500 grams assorted bell peppers: €0.89
1 kg organically grown carrots: €0.99
Total €16.42
Given the current exchange rate (€1 = $1.20), that would be equivalent to $19.70, and would more than suffice for FOUR healthy meals for a family of four.
I'm not even including the many kilograms of wild cherry jam that we "put up" last July (yes, we used a couple of pounds of store-bought sugar), our endless supply of garden herbs (sage, peppermint for tea, oregano, thyme, etc.), and the 50 kg or so of apples that drop into our yard every autumn from the apple tree in our neighbor's yard.
We live in a little country village, but are essentially "city folk" insofar as we don't grow our own potatoes, etc.
Also, these are premium-grade items - I'm sure that we could buy cheap, no-name bulk goods for much less. We could, e.g., presumably buy flour and bake our own bread for considerably less.
YES, I know that I have neglected to include the cost of such items as salt, or the price of electricity.
The point is, I could prepare meals for a family of four for under $5.00. Meals that would not be screaming "after the Apocalypse" or "Grapes of Wrath."

I buy Kerrygold butter, but here it is $3.84/£2.89 for 227 grams. Lol, if Ireland were only where Mexico is!
My mistake! The packages of Kerrygold to which I referred have a weight of 250 grams - but are thus still considerably cheaper than yours.

Ive got, you guessed it, seven children, all at home. My oldest (16) is going job hunting today. Potatoes, rice, beans,.. it can get old but God is good all the time. One consolation (not that it matters with our voting system) is that two of them will be eligible to vote next election. Tough times breed tough people. They are all blessings from God, arrows in my quiver. Im teaching them virtue and what is means to be a free people. And that freedom is worth dying for. They have not had one day of government education (homeschooled), are proficient in self defense, and dont envy their cousins who run around with their noses buried in their hand held devices. My life line is a strong economy and I fear that we are approaching lean times if the communist imposter takes the WH. I pray for a miracle but if it doesnt happen, so be it. If you mess with my family’s freedom then there are no rules.

Are both parents of those seven children still in reasonably good health? Is at least one of them gainfully employed? Is the marriage intact?
Would rather subsist (like you) on potatoes, rice, and beans in an intact family than live in luxury in a household dominated by strife.
