After moving their entire football operation to Arizona for what they initially hoped would be just a three-week stay, the San Francisco 49ers will finish the 2020 regular season in the desert.

The 49ers relocated to Arizona on Dec. 2 after the initial announcement of enhanced guidelines from Santa Clara County on Nov. 28.

This what the citizens of Santa Clara Count paid for:

A stadium filled with life and fun looked like before this idiotic nonsense:

No problem.

The taxpayers and citizens of Santa Clara County only $1.3 billion for this uhmmm now, boondogle, which is not getting used

On May 29, 2009 the 49ers reached an agreement with the City of Santa Clara to construct a $1.3 billion stadium. At a cost of over $1 billion, 90% of the stadium was funded by the sale of stadium assets, a hotel tax, the 49ers and the NFL. The City of Santa Clara contributed $114 million in public contributions that included $42 million in redevelopment money. Groundbreaking occurred on April 19, 2012 and in May 2013, Levi Strauss & Co., purchased the naming rights to the stadium for $220 million over two decades.

But now are suppose to continue paying this?  Our Future?

Emptyiness?

They’re working hard at killing the business model of having a home town that is the base for creating fans, and have already chased away many fans by insulting over 50% of them for loving their country. They might as well just play on a movie set. Not that I think they shouldn’t leave Cali to play in Arizona, they absolutely should. Just as the Rose Bowl should be moved from Pasadena since they won’t even allow a few hundred parents to attend inside a massive stadium.

The city of Santa Clara has been in a big dispute with the 49ers since the stadium was built. I’m sure they would encourage the county to do anything that would annoy the 49ers.

The 49ers should stay in Phoenix and then the county can turn Levi Stadium into a homeless encampment.

I told this to a friend who works at Silicon Valley Power and he said don’t give the county any ideas.

What needs to happen, and I hope what will happen, is a veto-proof state legislature at the beginning of 2021 is going to bind up these ridiculous non-existant goobernatorial powers, and tie the hands of any goobernor from allowing dystopian usurpers or just-plain-old shitheel Democrats from exercising unconstitutional powers ever again.

On appeal, SCOTUS will uphold the powers of state legislatures to tell their governor to f. off.

"On Wednesday, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear issued an executive order renewing the state’s mask mandate requiring Kentuckians to wear masks in public for 30 days. Under Kentucky law, the governor has broad powers during states of emergency, such as issuing executive orders, and Beshear has exercised this power often during the pandemic. However, that power could be revised in 2021.

Two pre-filed bills, BR 66 and BR 130, by Republican lawmakers, aim to put limits on the governor’s executive orders made during a state of emergency by having the General Assembly be part of the conversation.

BR 66 wants the governor's emergency orders to expire after 28 days unless approved by the General Assembly."
