It will be interesting to see if this can increase data speed over fiber optic cables.

SiGe is not silicon and if the crystal structure is different then there will be some differences in heat dissipation, etc.

So there will still be some issues integrating this with pure Si or even other varieties of SiGe.

This is hopeful, but it is just the beginning.
