If Standard Operating Procedure was that government salaries would not be paid for days missed during a shutdown, then the shutdown might actually save us some money to offset the huge COVID outlays.
But SOP is not, so any savings will be undermined as soon as the government opens back up.

Actually, Congress should have had their pay cut during the Rona Pandemic. Why should they continue to be paid when millions of American people are going through hardships, losing their jobs, and businesses. It’s our money, they thrive while we struggle, as usual. Plus, God only knows what deals they are cutting in the back rooms to make even more money because Of the virus.

I’d like to see their pay stopped until they do what the constitution says they are required to do. Produce a budget. These continuing resolutions are mere theft.

Federal employees never lose a dime...They get paid when they go back to work——full pay.

I don't understand why they do get paid after. That makes it an easy paid vacation, PLUS all these restaurants and places feel sorry for the parasites and give them free food and crap because of mean ole Trump. The ONLY time employees who don't work during the shutdown should get paid is if they use up their PTO.
Also, every single CongressCritter should have their pay zeroed for every day there's Federal employees not getting paid due to their inaction.
