I don’t disagree. But as pointed out earlier, the Tuskegee “Study” is still well within living memory. The distrust may seem irrational, but it’s there and has to be dealt with.

Reminds me a bit of the O.J. case. Turns out that the some of the L.A.P.D. was crooked and did plant evidence. People in the ‘hood knew that, people out of the ‘hood couldn’t believe it, but it turned out to be true.

Oddly, the black community and their mistrust may have been the more appropriate view towards those in power than the trusting white community has had.
