He did not come from the Clinton/Bush duopoly, that’s why.
He was not from either party - Dim or GOP - that is not really controlled by its own supposed party leaders, but is controlled, both of them - at far too many positions, by movers and shakers mutually controlling major players in both parties.
In simple terms, Trump was not one of “them” - the two party duopoly network; he was an outsider that network could not control.
NeverTrump Republicans hate him because he didn’t pay his party dues, get in line and wait his turn. Nobody likes a line jumper!
I think they hate him because he worked hard and became rich and they want to become rich and profit off their offices and he won't put up with that.
They also hate him because he revealed them to be a bunch of worthless windbags who always made excuses as to why they could not enact a conservative agenda.
That is correct; there is no Islamophobia. A phobia is an unwarranted or unreasonable fear. It is neither unreasonable nor unwarranted to fear a system which demands that you be subjugated, enslaved or killed if you refuse to embrace it.

In the movie Heaven Can Wait, Warren Beatty is a football quarterback who is taken prematurely by an angel who thought he was destined to die, but was going to survive.
Mr. Jordan sends him back to earth as a millionaire business executive, but Beatty still wants to be an NFL quarterback. He finds that he owns a team and decides to try out for the quarterback position.
The team sees him as an outsider, an interloper, and refuse to block for him during his tryout snaps. He keeps getting tackled, but gets up again and and insists on taking another snap.
That is, in a nutshell, the Trump presidency.
His team is the establishment Republicans. They resent him as an interloper, and actively try to prevent him from accomplishing anything, even though they would benefit from it, too.
In the movie, the team eventually recognizes his skills and warm up to him if it will lead them to a championship.
In real life, the Republicans would rather lose the season if it keeps President Trump from attaining glory at their perceived expense from voters who question why Trump got things done and they didn't. Trump's successes also put the Republicans in the position of having higher expectations, something the Republicans have a natural tendency to avoid.
The Democrats went after Trump for beating Hillary Clinton and threatening the Obama agenda. They also saw the threat to their control of the courts. The Democrats also leveraged the innate weaknesses of Republicans to keep them on edge and hesitant to tip towards Trump's side.
In the movie, the team wins the championship and Mr. Jordan puts Beatty into the body of another fallen quarterback. In real life, the Democrats ginned up a hoax investigation, impeached President Trump, stole the election from him, and the Republicans took a back seat and let it happen.

Likely that list is correct, I’d add that he turned on the Democrats too, in giving them way too generous campaign money. They turned on Reagan for switching from D to R too.

It is often said that a person’s greatest strengths are also his greatest weaknesses. Trump getting into politics is textbook illustration of this maxim. His aggressive public self-promotion (”-”) vs. his aggressive public USA/MAGA promotion (”+”). Complete DC political outsider impeded ability quickly to get key people inside WH to advance agenda (”-”) vs Trump beholden to no one in DC, no chit to cash, no favor to grant, question the status quo (e.g. NATO, Mid East peace, ISIS, etc) and take action (”+”).
The more the left hated him, the bigger the impediments to his presidency (”-”) vs the stronger his base became to supporting him, as the left’s corruption in our institutions was laid bare for all to see (”+”). His final act may be exposing the U.S. election system is a fraud.
Trump had the extraordinary, genuine ability of someone in his class to relate personally to any American in any other class. But more than relating across all lines, he could understand and empathize the challenges and struggles of the average person - and then take action.
If Trump is not the next POTUS until 2025, and the stars align, he could very well return. What would be to his advantage is that Buyden makes it to 82. He’ll have a record of failure and scandal, and failing health will most likely cause him to not run again. The choice will be clear - Trump’s 4 years vs Buyden failed way of doing things. In the interim, GOP must stamp out all the election fraud before 2024, better, before 2022. That is the weakest link in Trump’s future success. Only a fraction of the GOP is committed to this, and the system (judiciary, legislatures, media) are lukewarm to down right hostile to cleaning up fraudulent elections, b/c many would be non-influential or ousted in a fair election. But more importantly the entrenched, corrupt would have to work for the good of the average American, recognize and admit that Trump won in 2020. No way they will work to accomplish that.
