What Can We Do?
American Thinker ^ | 18 Dec, 2020 | J. Robert Smith

With cowardice and treachery swirling in the December air like snowflakes, we wonder what fate will befall the Republic. The epic elections scam is within inches of triumph. We’re near calling for a Hail Mary pass. We pray for a Trump victory. If that pass misses the receiver, though, then a frail, faltering, corrupt old man will make a mockery of the oath of office by taking it at high noon on January 20. All those who participate in that charade on that gloomy day are, in their ways, culpable in the greatest crime ever committed against the American people.

If that dark January day arrives, our struggle for full restoration of the rule of law, elections integrity, and our rights won’t cease. It simply cannot. Tyranny, in whatever form and degree, must be defeated. Liberty is rarer than gold and platinum in this old world. We are blessed by God as no other people in history. And being so blessed, we have a solemn duty -- an obligation to God -- to fight for and win back the America of our founding. So, shake off discouragement. Don’t fall prey to defeatism. Today, and moving ahead -- a Trump win or not -- we must fight in the spirit of 1776. Right is on our side, and victory belongs to those who endure.

In recent days, and increasingly, folk are asking: “What can we do?” Describing problems and identifying challenges are necessary first steps, but they don’t suffice. We need ideas for actions, and then action plans. Then we must act.

Donald J. Trump’s magnificent presidency and the election theft have galvanized patriots more so than at any time since Pearl Harbor.

".... What Can We Do?...."

After interacting with several combative, pessimistic and contrarian FReepers on this site who are opposed to any effort, no matter how justified, to save Trump's win and therefore, save the Republic from the wannabe commies on the Left taking over the presidency and congress and the real commies of the CCP who will have achieved their goal of taking control of our once sovereign nation without firing a single shot, I am convinced that the problem is that not even our side wants to fight until there are no other options left.

They bridle at the suggestions of invoking the Insurrection Act or Trump's EO #13848 regarding foreign interference in the elections or even declaring martial law to round up the fraud perpetrators and to forensically audit the ballots for legal versus illegal votes in these battleground states. They see this as untoward. They claim Biden won fair and square and we just lost. Biden won through criminal cheating, by violating election laws, not fairly. They want to quit because that is what everybody else has done in the past. It is precedent. Be polite and just say I concede. If our side took extreme measures to correct the problem and restore the integrity of the vote, they consider us the bad guys.

Too many want to quit before the last hand is played out. They want to concede when Trump won fairly. You can't concede to the thieves who broke into your home and cleaned your house out of all of your possessions. Trump is not like that. He's not a quitter. He's not a turn-the-other-cheek kind of guy. If someone deliberately crosses him, he wants payback. He wants vengeance. Right or wrong, he will never concede to those who stole his second term from him.

Trump believes in payback

The contrarians worry that if Trump does something, anything, that doesn't smell right, that might in any way violate the constitution, that we are committing a bigger sin than the democRATS did by violating the constitution with a coordinated, illegal coup d'état via massive voter and election fraud, that we are the wrong, not the democRATS. In what world are the thieves, ergo the criminals, considered better than the law? Oh, I forget, in the world of the democRATS and their defund-the- police and let-the-criminals-go world.

We want to play footsie while they want to kick us in the head when we're down.

I'm more of the opinion that desperate times require desperate measures. Lincoln famously took actions during the civil war that may have stretched legitimacy under the constitution. Most of his actions were legal. Some were questionable but not egregious. He did waive the right to habeas corpus. He admitted he may have violated the constitution in some ways but it was necessary to save the union.

Personally, I believe we are again at such a crossroads in our history. If Trump does not take desperate measures now, that even some on our side think are unconstitutional, then the Republic will be lost and irretrievable. We won't get a second chance. Trump is a one time deal. He is the only man I know of, at this point in our history who could have done what he has accomplished in four short years with the evil forces of the globalists, Deep Staters and the anti-American Left constantly arrayed against him.

No one can name another man or woman who could have withstood the constant opposition and still have accomplished great things. Any other previous president would have wilted under the constant barrage of hate and attempts to remove him from office and given up and crawled back their mommy crying. And we are not ready for Trump to pull out all of the stops and play the biggest hole card he may have to save his second term and the Republic as founded?

These naysayers on FR (I call them FRINOs) are like the guy in a car who enters an intersection with the green light, only to be slammed by an eighteen wheeler who ran a red light. The guy in the car's last words before dying are, "Well, at least I had the right of way". Being right and being dead right are two very different outcomes.

We are about to be dead right if desperate measures aren't taken now, and by that I mean yesterday.

I think the four years of treason against Trump plus the election fraud constitute an undeniable coup attempt. That certainly justifies anything Trump does be it insurrection attempt, marshal law or mass arrests of all known participants.

As a solid supporter of President Trump, I find it hard not to agree with your assessment.

Thanks.

I am pissed is a quiet sort of way.

I am tired of the naysaying, pessimistic, contrarian, negative FReepers who challenge anything that is suggested for Trump to win and save the Republic.

They smugly quote the constitution and argue with you if you don't believe as they do (I believe in the constitution) but don't understand that if Biden and crew are allowed into the seats of power, what the constitution says will matter no more.

It's almost like they are anti-Trumpers or democrat liberals themselves. Which they may be.

Thanks for responding. Merry Christmas.

I concur and share your sentiments. Too many surrender monkeys around.
