In a more sane era, just a few of these “bombshells” would have brought down governments. Now, whatever news item is inconvenient, it is dismissed as a conspiracy theory or false or baseless and covered up by the press.

Not true, they mean the exact opposite. If you see those words, you know nothing is going to come to fruition.
