France’s public service ministry has fined the Paris city authorities for employing too many women in senior positions in 2018. The appointments breach a law passed to maintain a gender balance.

According to the 2013 rule, one sex cannot account for more than 60% of nominations to senior positions. It was aimed at getting women better access to top jobs in the civil service. Currently, about 47% of all civil servants in senior positions at the Paris city hall are women.
France’s Public Service Minister Amélie de Montchalin took to Twitter to confirm that the fine had been levied for 2018. The “absurd” rule had since been repealed, she added. …

Top many women in “top positions”? I thought that was a natural position.
Guess the mysoginist male chauvinists want women back in the “bottom position”, again.
What is a “senior position”? A job position for the elderly? I hope they don’t hurt themselves getting into it.
Imagine! Paying a French woman for their “position”? Thought that France was famous for that long before this issue came up as employment law.
I once knew a French lady who was in the Resistance during WW2. Back then, most French women chose some personal relations modesty. Now they are being criticized for wanting to be in the “top position”.
My how the times have changed.

If we had such a law, minorities in advertising would be breaking the law.
