I think a lot of people expected things to change once we got Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barret on the court. Obviously they haven’t. I doubt POTUS pinned all his hopes on SCOTUS acting responsibly. At least I hope he didn’t.
Captain Obvious here. Something significant will have to occur between now and Jan. 6th. If today were Jan 6th, Tubbervville and Mo Brooks would raise the necessary objections to the EC vote, and they both might be joined by a handful of additional senators/reps. But the objections would be defeated by votes of the whole House and Senate.
Either POTUS is waiting till after Jan. 6th to play his hand, or something big will happen between now and Jan. 6th that will virtually ensure that the House and Senate will vote to block the Biden electors from the contested states. Actually, I think there’s a third option as well. Pence can refuse to certify the electors regardless of what the House and Senate decide. I may be wrong on that last point, but that’s how I understand it.
