We did not even get a debate on this topic because McConnell was playing the long game.
If we have no Federal, central database, a person could register in two states. A felon in one state could register in another state where felons are not allowed to vote. Etc. Etc.
McConnell has been in DC for about 50 years, and in Senate for 35 years. He and his cabal believe “there is a way we things around here...” and PDJT wanted none of it. So they did what they had to do to get back to business as usual.

The “election days” is what introduces all of the fraud. We need a single election day. A person can be in one place at one time only. Absentee is with a sworn statement to an election official with regards to absence from the voting district.
