I think you are correct to worry about that.
This is not 1940, as I gather you understand well. IT and cyberfunctionality are crucial to our national security and economic well being.
Not to mention changing the results of an election.

That's unless there are stealth bombers (in the "Q" definition) in the CCP willing to take down Xi Jinping and his allies. We're going to find out that China was the real threat to our elections, not Russia.
