I’m going to have to enthusiastically disagree with you on that one. Not sure where you’ve traveled, eastexsteve, but I’ve never been to Mexico, Central/South America. But I have been to Afghanistan and Iraq.
When those folks come here, in whatever way, regardless of where they’re from, they leave behind mud huts and homes that would make Section 8 look like the Ritz.
As for those to our South, they live in socialist countries where their leadership could care less about them. But they’re “taken care of”, cradle to grave. They wash their clothes in the nearest creek. If they need a doctor, they walk down the dirt road to someone. Here they walk into an ER, in a US hospital. That is like the med bay on Star Trek, compared to where they came from.
They make it here, pop out a citizen and, VOILA, Section 8, SNAP, TANF, WIC, free breakfast/lunch/dinner at school, education, medical care, utilities, warm home in the winter/cool home in the summer. All handed to them by the Democratic Party.
Then, they get the opportunity to bring over their entire families, who will all get the same bennies, plus SSI for their elderly parents and grandparents.

But at the end of the day, the Dem’s are the Dem’s. The white liberals among them are of the belief that they’ll hold their seats for as long as they want and that these folks will continue licking their hands. They’re too stupid to know or accept that once these areas get enough numbers, they elect their people. At that point they don’t have to rely on the white liberal hypocrites anymore. Who only want these folks for votes, to mow the lawn and fold the laundry. Nothing more. And they want them living far, far, far away from them.
Mexico is much more civilized than what you described. The illegals here in Texas came here for the jobs, and they know where those jobs came from. And, all the Mexican-American citizens I know wouldn't spit on Biden if he was on fire.
