I’ve observed the same thing with baby pacifiers. Plug one in, and it acts like an off switch.
When in office my ONE day this week, a lady in elevator told me to cover my nose. ONE FLOOR I was on that elevator for. I said “JUST FOR YOU” as I pulled the mask up and then down as I walked OFF. TOTAL STRANGER!
