This documentary was originally made by Peter Bogdanovich in 1971 with extensive on camera interviews with John Wayne, Henry Fonda and James Stewart and others. Bogdanovich returned to it in 2006 and supplemented it with new interviews with Clint Eastwood, Walter Hill, Martin Scorsese etc. It's a treat for fans of John Ford.
Thank you. I will watch it this weekend.
Watched this years ago. Highly recommend. The part I so remember is the interview with Spielberg on how at a young age (15? or so) he got a lesson from John Ford on finding the Horizon Line in a painting in Ford’s studio office. Then to a filmed view of a far off Horseman and Rider and Ford’s use of that horizon line. Just beautiful. Enjoy.
Thanks.
Love John Ford. Thanks!
I love to listen to directors like Peter Bogdanovich, Billy Friedkin and Martin Scorsese talk about their films and films in general. They are so knowledgeable and interesting.
