Just got a call at 10:11 this morning from someone in Salineville, Ohio, from a residence (her English was not very good.) Said they were calling for Comcast and it had to do with my internet.
She said that she was calling to help me reset my internet because there were going to be problems with it due to COVID and everyone working from home.
I asked her were they calling everyone. She said no, we are not calling everyone.
I told her I didn’t know her, didn’t trust what she was telling me and that I would need to call Comcast for myself to verify what she was telling me.
Anyone getting called?

Beginning to get a little paranoid from strange calls I am getting. I know we are all watched but this is stupid ridiculous and I’m getting a pretty mad on about it.

I think it’s just scam calls, primarily, as businesses shutter and the rules collapse.
That’s a big consequence of the steal, imo, that hardly anyone talks about.
You’ve got this big segment of people who think the government is illegitimate and they not only lose faith in their institutions, but they no longer see the need to follow the laws because it’s the “right thing to do”
If they think they can get away with things they will try.
That, and almost every company I’ve dealt with this year, due to pandemic confusion and fear, seems more disorganized and inept than ever, so it could just be very poorly designed and implemented customer service bs run out of people’s homes, overseas (no matter what they say), for pennies an hour.
Update.
I called provider and they didn’t hire anyone to call me to help with an issue. There is no issue. LIARS abound. So I am calling donotcall and reporting the number from salineville, ohio.
Was a scammer or phishing call.
BEWARE FREEQS and anons of out of blue callers who say we are here to help you with your internet.
Makes me wonder how many people panic and say yes help me!!!
